3 Daily Tips - Post #8

Vitamin D.

Pretty difficult to get these days from the outdoors but there are so many ways to get vitamin d without being outdoors for a long time.

But why is it important?

Vitamin D is essential to promoting healthy bones and teeth by regulating calcium in the body, supporting the immune system, lung and heart health and regulating insulin levels.

Symptoms of vitamin D deficiency may include: regular sickness or infection, fatigue, bone and back pain, low mood, impaired wound healing, hair loss and muscle pain.

What foods can you find it in?

Most fish, mushrooms, egg yolks and foods that are fortified with vitamin d, most dairy products and soy products.

Food Tip:

What have you been eating for breakfast? Breakfast is still the most important meal of the day even if you are working from home or just at home and not working. I make sure to have a protein and a fat at every meal, especially breakfast. Today’s breakfast was goat yogurt, a tbsp of mixed seeds, a drizzle of silan, a tbsp homemade sugar free granola and a banana. With my chai almond milk latte, obviously.

What did you have for breakfast?

Remember, until tomorrow.
