3 Daily Tips - Post #10

Keeping Calm.

These days everyone's world has been turned upside down. Each day more and more restrictions and changes are set and we have to learn to adapt to a new world. So how are people adapting? Humans are extremely resilient and we have the ability to adapt to any situation, we just need to be aware of the need and how best suits us.

For myself, thinking out all the options and foreseeing what could be coming next has always kept me calm. Focusing on the things I can control and releasing worry about the things I can't control has also helped. Thinking outside of the box in all situations is a great way to adapt to a new situation and from what I've seen over the last weeks, people have been really excelling at this.

And if you haven't been, taking it day to day is also a way to succeed in getting through this tough, strange time.

Face and Body Tip:

Tapping for stress relief!

Tapping is a form of acupressure, using fingertip taps instead of needles.

The theory is that all negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body’s energy system and that tapping can restore balance to this system.

Tapping neutralizes any judgment you have about your anxiety. A single session of tapping can turn off the stress response and significantly reduce levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that wreaks havoc on your health and mental well-being.

Tapping is also beneficial towards helping people who suffer from addictions, anger, depression, insomnia, panic, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder and tension headaches.

EFT Tapping includes an affirmation said during the tapping session. I did not address that in the video but you can write down/think about/say out loud, what is causing your anxiety or stress and release it.

Food Tip:

Coriander Seeds.

I love cilantro and coriander seeds in my food, but half the world hates how they taste. I do have to admit that it took me some time to get used to fresh cilantro, but it has been on my shopping list for many years now.

Why is coriander a staple in my kitchen?

They aid in digestion (big plus for me), help lower cholesterol, help with weight loss and to control blood sugar and of course, help with hair and skin health. They are rich in Vitamins K, C & B, full of essential minerals and anti-oxidants.

So, remember to eat healthy, get enough sleep, move your bodies and drink lots of water.

Don't forget to make time for yourselves, especially if you are in a house full of people demanding your attention.

Have your guilty pleasure too :)

Shabbat Shalom!

Until next time,

Breathe.
