3 Daily Tips - Post #9

Core Muscles.

Today's topic is super important. Even if you dislike the over use of the word "core", these muscles play a huge role in keeping the body strong and injury free.

So which muscles are part of the core?

Most people think that the core consists of the abdominal muscles and maybe the lower back. The core essentially connects the upper and lower body providing stability and control for all body movements. So we are looking at all the muscles that connect to the spine and hips. These are the abdominal muscles, glute muscles, lower back muscles, pelvic floor muscles and even parts of the broader back muscles.

I work this set of muscles every day, it helps keep my back injury in check and when I am progressing to more difficult exercises I feel more secure.

I work these muscles every day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Both times I stretch and strengthen to keep as limber and strong as possible.

Body Tip:

Core exercises!

Face Tip:

Food tip:

Mustard seeds.

They add great taste to your food, but how do they help your body?

Mustard seeds have warming properties and they are rich in vitamins and minerals that are essential to our health. They benefit your skin, hair and muscles. Mustard seeds contain protein, calcium, vitamin A and E, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids so they strengthen your hair and stimulate hair growth. Topically you can make a hair mask with avocado oil and crushed mustard seeds but it also is helpful from within the body.

They also are rich in antioxidants which help fight against skin aging.

Mustard seeds are also beneficial for people with asthma because of the presence of minerals like copper, magnesium, iron and selenium.

The warming properties of mustard make them beneficial for muscle and pain relief applied topically in a paste or cream.

I will be using them today as a facial scrub, pictures will be posted tomorrow :)

And,

Breathe.
