3 Daily Tips - Post #1

Where to begin?

It has been a crazy 2 weeks and it seems that we are in this for the long haul.

I'll let you all know what I have been doing these last couple of weeks.

Thank god for our dog Bucky, he makes us smile when we aren't in the mood, gets us outdoors when we really don't want to move and just bunker down and hide from reality. We go out 3-4x a day for walks, runs, playtime and that has been keeping us sane.

We have also been planning a wedding for the last 6 months. Everything was set in place and we were just waiting for the days to get longer, the weather to get nicer and my family and friends to make it to Israel this week. That all changed. Each week that went by, bringing us closer to the 27th of March, rules and restrictions changed. Then my grandmother passed away and I told my parents that if they want to be at my wedding in Israel they have to get on a plane as soon as shiva was over. That's just what they did and luckily for them, all they needed to do was be in quarantine for 2 weeks in-order to be able to make it to the 27th.

Then the rules and restrictions increased even more and we decided to cancel our venue and move our wedding to Kfar Malal, in the house where Aviv's parents live and his great-grandmother helped establish and his grandmother and mother grew up. We used my grandfathers’ kiddish cups and tallit, Aviv wore a kippah his grandmother crocheted. We set up a live stream of the wedding ceremony for the 27th.

Then the news was reporting an even stricter lockdown and we made the decision not to wait until the 27th and set up our Chuppah for the next morning, the 19th of March. We had a beautiful ceremony with 12 people all together there physically but virtually guests joined from all over the world to share in our Simcha. The livestream was the best money spent on the wedding, hands down.

There is a lot to learn from this time. The most important is that nothing is in our control. You can plan all you want but someone else is running the show.

My advice to you during this uncertain time is: spend time with your loved ones, take care of your health, move your body, binge on whatever TV shows you want (it's also important to take a time out), cook for yourselves, order online or to be delivered and try to stay as safe as possible.

I will be posting 3 videos each day: 1 with an exercise for your body, 1 with an exercise for your face and 1 with a massage technique for your body.

I will also be posting about different essential vitamins and minerals that can be found in our food that can help us during these times.
