How to get out of your funk?
I feel like I'm in a funk.
Most days I am running around from client to client, gym to gym, clinic to clinic. These days, I'm at home, walking the dog, watching TV, cleaning a bit, cooking a bit and sitting on my behind. I do my daily exercises but it ends there.
Maybe this is just what I needed, but it's definitely hard to get used to.
So what's the most important thing now that we are mostly stuck, sitting at home?
Getting your blood flowing, bringing new oxygen to the rest of your body.
Here are 2 videos on how to get blood flowing to your body and to your head and a great way to break up the monotony of sitting all day at your computer. I would recommend doing them every hour on the hour and then drink a full glass of water before returning to whatever you were doing before.
Food tip for the day:
Right now I am living in an avocado orchard. We have so many ripe avocados we can't eat them fast enough.
SO what are the health benefits of avocados and why are they so important these days?
Avocados are high in potassium, fiber and vitamin c. We all know how important vitamin c is in keeping a strong immune system. Potassium is important in keeping your blood pressure stable and we can all benefit from that these days. Fiber is important to keep you regular, if you know what I mean. When we change our daily routines that has an effect on our digestive system, so anything you can do to keep that as normal as possible will help you stay physically and mentally healthy.
Here's a fun(ny) way of using up those avocados:
Avocado/Banana/Egg Yolk Face Mask:
Take 1/2 ripe / soft avocado, 1/2 ripe banana and 1 egg yolk.
Mash and mix all the ingredients together to form a paste of uniform consistency.
Apply on your skin and leave it on for 10-15 minutes.
Once done, wash it off with lukewarm water and then pat dry your skin with a soft towel.
The avocado will help soothe and add moisture to your dry skin, the egg yolk will help with pigmentation and to tighten your skin and the banana helps clear up acne and nourish your skin with extra biotin.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's tips!
